Kind, Caring, Resilient
Taylor
Class of 2028
Hi. I’m Taylor.
I’m passionate about the environment, animals and the arts. I have over 8 years invested in activism to help save the wildlife sanctuaries and green space in Liberty State Park. My love for the environment and wildlife started when I was very young. I remember my first protest to save LSP from developers when I was 5 years old.
Another passion of mine is Art. I have been practicing art and incorporating art techniques into many projects over the years. I have passion for both the fine arts and the performing arts.
I grew up in the Poconos and Jersey City, and I am an aspiring artist and environmentalist, and I’m excited to enter High School in the fall of 2024!

About Me
Passion Project: Environmental Science
Environmental Science is my favorite field of science. The reason I love environmental science is because I love nature and I want to study and protect it.
Climate change is a worldwide issue that has been going on for years and is a continuous and ongoing threat to the earth and its wildlife.
I have a passion for the earth’s environment and I want to do as much as I can to protect it. When I get to High School, I definitely wish to see how I can pursue this passion of mine even further, perhaps by getting involved with a local initiative and even initiating a new project with some of my peers to help our planet.
Volunteer Work
I have a passion for the earth’s environment and I want to do as much as I can to protect it.

Most recently, I was part of some neighborhood cleanup with my peers at school. I also got involved to help clean up our rooftop garden at school. My peers and I not only helped to maintain our outdoor garden, we also learned how to set up an aeroponic growing tower so that we can cultivate herbs and leafy greens in our school’s indoor garden.
Below are some of my favorite Environmental Activism moments.
Herpatology
My favorite animals of all time are reptiles. Herpetology is the study of reptiles, amphibians and their habitats. Reptiles and amphibians have large roles in the ecosystem and have been around since the dinosaurs. The areas these creatures live in are in danger and conservation efforts are needed. I am considering herpetology because of my love and passion to help protect these animals and their environments.
Acting and the Arts
I have loved drawing and sketching since I was 4 years old. Over time my art has improved and expanded with different techniques including shading, realism, and shadowing. I’ve loved learning different art styles from my teachers such as traditional art on paper and painting canvases; however I’ve been thinking about going into digital art because of the career opportunities available in that field. Acting is another passion of mine and being an actor was always somewhere in the back of my mind. I started taking acting classes at HB Studios in New York last summer and will continue in January, 2024.
