Academic Pursuits
Our Middle School program includes Interdisciplinary Studies where we examine unit themes through project work, ELA/Humanities, Math, Science, STEM and Spanish as well as community service. Here is a peek at some of my projects.
PBL (Project-Based Learning) Unit on “Perspective”
In this project, I studied what space mining is and how it could impact us. I picked space mining because it was a lesser-known area of science and I thought that it could impact humanity a lot if it was successful and I wanted to know more about it.
Space Mining
Civics
In this project, I studied who is on the Supreme Court of the United States right now and some impactful and interesting cases that they tried. I was very interested in this project because I knew nothing about court cases and wanted to learn more information about the justices of the supreme court of America.

Community Service
Our school believes in the power of community. This is even part of our Mission Statement: “Connected to the World Around Us.”
I live in one of the most diverse cities in our country which is very inspiring, so I want to do my part to be a good steward and a good role model.
My family and I go to Mexico each year, where we have been volunteering in a library. We also volunteer at the local Day Care Center.
